Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)
What Is a Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA)?
The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a payment integration initiative of the European Union for simplification of bank transfers denominated in euro. Its goal is to make European payments as easy and cheap as domestic ones by creating a single market for euro-denominated payments.
The SEPA zone consists of the 28 EU member states together with the four members of the European Free Trade Association (Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland). Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, and the Vatican City State are also part of SEPA.
How to send money outside of SEPA?
This is why we are here – to connect the SEPA area with the rest of the world.
When you create an account, remitto.me generates your personal virtual IBAN in the SEPA area. This makes it possible to top up your balance as easily as making any other money transfer within the SEPA area. If your bank supports SEPA Instant Credit Transfer, topping up your balance will only take a few seconds. For other banks, topping up your balance could take up to one business day.
Once your balance is topped up, you can make instant money transfers to 50+ countries around the world. In most countries, a money transfer can be paid in cash without the need for a bank account for the recipient.
